Selwyn Doyle Connally, son of the late Garfield and Inez Connally was born the 12th of 13 children on October 30, 1956. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Daingerfield, Texas. He attended and graduated high school in Daingerfield. After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975-1981 and was honorably discharged.
He was employed for many years and retired form the United States Post Office. He was definitely a country boy who loved horses, antiques, westerns, gardening and fishing. Whether a big gathering for a Connally family reunion, a fish fry with green tomatoes that are cooked in a big pot in the yard, or just a quiet seat on the banks of the pond behind the house fishing, he really enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Inez Connally; four brothers, Travis, Garfield, Larry and Daniel Connelly; four sisters, Norma Turner, Vivian Turner, Marva Rodgers, Linda Minatee, and one step-sister, Tessie Turner.
Left to cherish his memory is Wanda Kay; step-son, Roshoddrick L. Thomas; son, Sa'Drin D. Connally; daughter, Shaquandria D. Connally (Tweatie) of Dallas, Texas; and three grandboys, Rhyson, Sharod Lee and Aaden
Darnell Connally, Chauncy Nasir Hamilton, one Brother: Clarence (Roschelle) of Dallas, TX; 3 Sisters: Bessie Taylor, Charlesetta Carr of Dallas, TX and Darlene Austin of Lonestar, TX; one step-sister: Billy Shelton, two sisters-in-law: Deloris Connally and Betty Connally of Dallas, TX; one brother-in-law: James Rodgers of Dallas, TX. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
